McClellan’s Retreat is gaining a sister bar in early 2017. The Truxton Inn will be located on the corner of Florida Avenue and 3rd Street NW and will have an intimate, cocktail bar feel.

Not much else is known about the forthcoming bar as Partner Matt Weiss says their still going through the permitting process. He tells Y&H that he’s superstitious about saying too much too soon. 

Though, there was chatter back in February about the bar in Borderstan, which lists the address as 251 Florida Ave. NW. The initial liquor license application suggested snacks might also be served. 

Brian Nixon, who serves as the general manager at McClellan’s Retreat, will also build the drink list at The Truxton Inn.
