If sculpting a beach bod with the help of Solidcore and portion control is a spring goal, navigate your browser elsewhere. That’s because Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. is launching a sit-down restaurant with a drive-through on Bladensburg Road in Northeast D.C. not far from Echostage this month.
You’ve tried food from the homegrown biscuit company, headed up by Executive Chef Jason Gehring and CEO Ayeshah Abuelhiga, at Union Market where they satisfy the hungover with breakfast biscuit sandwiches like one with Benton’s bacon, egg, and cheese. But when the 32-seat restaurant opens they’ll greatly expand their edible portfolio to include buckets of fried chicken, beef and cheddar sandwiches, sausage gravy bowls, and so much more. And, you can order it all without even putting it in park.
There’s a morning menu and an afternoon menu (below). Mason Dixie will be open Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Post reports that the biscuit company may open a downtown cafe too, and hopes to take the drive-through concept on the road.
