If rapper Kendrick Lamar is feeling spent and in need of fuel after performing at the Verizon Center tonight, he should swing by Bar Deco down the street. The multi-story bar that typically serves regular pub grub is going all out for the musician, whose favorite food is Fruity Pebbles cereal.
In honor of the rapper’s performance tonight, they’re serving Fruity Pebbles fried chicken fingers with fries for $15. And you won’t have to worry about Lamar’s 60/40 sogginess to crispiness rule, because the chicken fingers are all crisp.
Everyone knows Fruity Pebbles are the entertainer’s favorite snack. Even CNN, a network that typically operates on a five-year lag when it comes to pop culture, has called him a “cereal killer” because he consumes so much of the rainbow-colored sugar crisps.
Bar Deco isn’t the first bar to build a menu honoring a musical act. Five to One bar owner Trevor Frye regularly creates a cocktail list based on whoever is playing at the iconic Shaw concert venue 9:30 Club. Tonight, the artist is a little different from Lamar. It’s Sister Hazel.
