Rest in peace, s’mores empanada. Tonight is the last night for The Prospect on U Street NW. The sports bar opened back in 2015 in the former Ulah Bistro space. Social Restaurant Group will retain the space and renovate it starting in June.
Partner Mike Bramson says to expect a new restaurant by the end of summer or early fall. “We will bring back a fresh new concept that will have a broader appeal and will cater more towards the U Street neighborhood with weekend brunch service and dinner seven nights a week,” he says. One of the concepts being floated is Southern cuisine.
Social Restaurant Group is also behind Provision No. 14 down the street, as well as Pamplona and Bar Bao in Arlington and La Vie, a forthcoming restaurant at The Wharf.
Until the renovation begins, large parties can book the space for private events.
