The downtown work crowd has a new option for espresso, snacks, and pie. That’s what the acronym stands for in Killer E.S.P. The popular Alexandria coffee shop branched out this week with a new location where Dangerously Delicious Pies used to be, at 675 I Street NW.

Looks wise, the spaces couldn’t be more different. The quirky Northern Virginia shop offers an abundance of nooks where customers can cozy up with a cup of Joe, while the District’s location is the size of a New York City apartment and doesn’t have a single stool.

Customers can swing by for grab-and-go coffee and espresso from five roasters including Lost Sock, Passenger, Stumptown, Ruby, and Boxcar. Pair your drink with local treats from Julia’s Empanadas, Dangerously Delicious Pies, Snacklins, and more. Co-manager Kat Norman says they’ll be adding gluten free and vegan pastries into the mix.

Since they’re located in Chinatown, Norman says they’re only pouring teas imported directly from China. The selection includes a few varieties of fermented black teas known as pu-erh.

Killer E.S.P. is currently open during limited hours Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the future, the operating hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
