Last month, City Paper learned that Dorjee Momo founders Dorjee and Amberjade Tsering were expanding upon their temporary pop-up inside Bullfrog Bagels to launch a permanent restaurant in combination with two Airbnb apartments at 1300-1302 Pennsylvania Ave. SE.

There’s now a “for lease” sign on the bright red building the business was bound for. The entire permanent project is off, according to Amberjade. She provided the following statement:

The Dorjee Momo team has decided not to proceed with the full restaurant at this time. We are taking a hiatus from running the pop-up but hope to continue serving you very soon. Our personal relationship has become too fractured to effectively run a sustainable business together. I am so sorry that we are unable to honor your reservations, and I realize this is inconvenient and disappointing for you. You have placed trust in us as our guests and helped us build a truly exciting community, and we are grateful for your support and your love of our food.

Dorjee Momo specialized in Tibetan dumplings and hotpot. City Paper will provide an update if one becomes available.
