People’s just-published list of the ten “Sexiest Chefs Alive 2018” may have made your eyes roll, but it foreshadowed two names that will soon appear on major TV cooking competitions. Reverie‘s Johnny Spero will appear on Netflix’s The Final Table, out Nov. 20, and Eric Adjepong of Pinch & Plate, a pop-up dinner party business, will be a contestant on Top Chef Kentucky, premiering Dec. 6.
Adjepong confirms he’ll be on the show and says he’s excited to bring his signature West African-inspired cuisine to the judges’ table throughout the season. He’s a first-generation Ghanaian who grew up in New York City and cooked at Michelin-starred restaurants after culinary school.
In 2017, he told City Paper that he wants to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant but said the water’s too treacherous right now. Adjepong previously helped open former Top Chef contestant Kwame Onwuachi‘s Kith/Kin at The Wharf.
