The Anacostia Coordinating Council and Anacostia Park & Community Collaborative together present a forum for candidates in the At-Large Council race. These candidates plan to attend:

Dionne Reeder, Independent
David Schwartzman, Statehood Green Party
Elissa Silverman, Independent (Incumbent)
Panelists and audience members will ask questions. The panel of five includes two Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School students, reporter James Wright of the Washington Afro-American, reporter Sam Collins of the Washington Informer, and a representative from APACC. Audience members will submit written questions on cards, and organizers will choose questions with an eye for inquiries about the environment, local parks, and the Anacostia River. City Paper editor Alexa Mills will moderate the forum.
The evening will conclude with a straw poll and an announcement of the winners. The proceeds of the concession stand will go to the TMA student project to produce an anti-violence mural.
Thurgood Marshall Academy is located across from the Anacostia Metro Station at 2427 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE. The forum from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
