CHIKO’s growth spurt continues, this time at Capital One Arena. The casual restaurant that made its debut on Barracks Row in 2017 specializes in clever, comforting dishes that pull from both Chinese and Korean cuisines. Founders Danny Lee, Scott Drewno, and Drew Kim are excited to bring a selection of dishes to the sports and entertainment venue starting Friday night.
They provided City Paper with the following statement:
“The Fried Rice Collective is excited to announce that CHIKO will be landing at Capital One Arena starting January 18th. Serving our Korean fried chicken wings, crispy spring roll, and the bulgogi hoagie. We look forward to cooking and cheering alongside you.”
If you haven’t had one, a bulgogi hoagie combines savory Korean marinated beef with the cheesy goodness of a classic Philly cheesesteak.

The ChiKo team has been busy. In 2018 they added a location in Encinitas, California. A third location is planned for Dupont Circle at 2029 P St. NW. The same partners are also teaming up to bring Anju, a Korean pub, to the former Mandu space on 18th St. NW that burned down in 2017.
