Attention writers! Submissions are officially open for Washington City Paper‘s 2020 Fiction Issue. We want to read your best stories that comment, in some way, on life in the District of Columbia. Need some inspiration? Take some time to read winning stories from years past.
There are no genre or style limitations: Create something true to life or imagine something fantastical, so long as it deals with D.C. All stories should be previously unpublished and run no longer than 1,500 words. To enter, email a PDF of your story, as well as contact information, to fiction@washingtoncitypaper.com by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 15.
All entries will be judged blind, with all the author’s identifying information removed, by a panel of City Paper editors. Winning submissions will run in the January 9, 2020 issue of Washington City Paper. More information about related Fiction Issue events will be released soon. Until then, good luck and good writing!
