Washington City Paperis currently seeking an intern for fall 2020 who is interested in social media, digital marketing, and audience engagement to support editorial and membership efforts.

This position will be fully remote and requires a personal computer and reliable internet access. Start dates are flexible, but a three month commitment is required. Hours are also flexible, but some time on Fridays is required. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Posting editorial content to the City Paper Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram

  • Using in-platform scheduling tools for weekend social media posts

  • Assisting with the build of our daily email and other email builds as needed

  • Conducting market research 

  • Developing weekly social and web traffic reports 

  • Brainstorming fun, creative audience engagement ideas

  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Strong written communication skills  

  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft program suites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn 

  • Design program skills (primarily InDesign) and familiarity with Mailchimp would be appreciated

Compensation

Washington City Paper internships offer college credit or hourly compensation depending on experience, time, and the student’s needs.
